What it is Synthetic motor oil is a lubricant made up of artificially created chemical compounds that use chemically modified petroleum components rather than whole crude oil. Why it's better Because it's so slippery, synthetic motor oil flows more easily throughout your engine. This helps to reduce engine wear and makes it last longer. In addition, synthetic oil:
Increase Gas Mileage with Proper Tire Care![]() TPMS – Tire pressure monitoring system All new Subaru's now have low tire pressure monitoring sensors on the rims to alert drivers when a tire is low on pressure. In the colder winter months the pressure in the tires will drop as the temperature drops. We recommend inflating the tires to between 34 and 36 PSI to keep the pressure from dropping low enough to turn on the TPMS light. Inspect your tires regularly. Watch for visible signs of wear. If you observe uneven tire wear, visit our service department. You could have misaligned wheels, worn shock absorbers, or other potential problems. Check tread depth. There should be enough tread on the tire to operate safely. All grooves should be visible and deep enough to touch the top of Lincoln’s head on a penny inserted head first in the tread. Replace low tread or bald tires - they are unsafe. Check inflation pressure. Use a tire gauge when tires are cold. Look for the recommended inflation pressure in your Subaru Owner’s Manual or near the door latch on the driver's side. Don't Overstress. Warmer temperatures and long trips place added stress on your tires. Don’t drive at a high rate of speed for a long time in hot weather. Lower speeds will also give you better gas mileage. Avoid Overloading. Respect your tires' load limits shown in your Owner's Manual and on the certification plate on the edge of the driver’s door. Remember the spare. Make it a habit to check your spare tire’s pressure every time you check the pressure in the other tires so it’s ready if you need it. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to visit our Service Department for a tire inspection. |
